I’m in Atlanta, home of a zillion pilots. But no really local school with Diamond airplanes. So I drive about an hour to Winder. Kwdr. Dragonfly aviation. https://www.dragonflyav.com/ Da 20s, 40s and a 42VI. (Not that I’m ready, but $3,500 for twin rating seems like a good deal.) So far so good. Aiming towards instrument rating. Not like riding a bike but I’m making progress and feel like I’ve landed on a good choice.
Similar story except my interruption was a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis and loss of medical (CAA not FAA hence slower), which I hope to recover in 2023.

Hoping to get back to current and ME-IR by sometime in 2023.

“… Law school. Kids. Tuition. More tuition. Then more tuition followed by weddings. Four girls. Decided to fly…”

Could have written the same thing, except the plane came before the weddings. :D

I sent a friend to Angel City Flyers since I had such a great experience with them. Cary was the instructor and was reading his iPhone during the training flight. I won't send anyone there anymore.

If distance is not an object, I highly recommend Angel City Flyers at KLGB who train using DA40, DA42 and DA62, being a Diamond Training Brilliance Center. Cary Jones is the CFI.

Good luck!

Flyinghighagainllc.com in middle TN

My DA40NG is there to rent, so not so shameless plug. :)

Awesome CFIs though. My son trains there (now in my plane of course) and I will be as well.

Here is MyFlight in Orlando
https://www.flymyflight.com/ I'm a member and have had a great experience with them. I wanted to fly Diamond for my Instrument training and MyFlight had DA40s, DA42, and soon a DA62 and hopefully a DA50. All the DA40s I've flow are less than 2 years old and modern IFR platform. It's been easy to swap in-between aircraft as they are all the same --- even air conditioning, which I love!

DA 40NG and DA 42NG are the trainers
Thank you mdm~
I love this school, but they have a strict assessment and pre-test, they said they r selective, and just trained limited numbers of student per year. To avoid any unconfirmed and unpredictable situation, I have to search another alternatives.
Btw, is the weather there in NC good for flight training?
