Re: G1000 Components under back luggage compartment.

Cleaning the contacts certainly won't hurt anything, but this does sound more and more like an issue with the PFD; seeming a processing delay of some sort. I've seen some similar gremlins with ours and replacement was the only resolution. But hopefully your experience will be different. We just fin...

Re: G1000 Components under back luggage compartment.

Rich, the Frequency actually changed on both the PFD and MFD. It only has done this a few times and just happened more recently. So far we have not made a radio call on a error changed frequency. It was noticed and caught prior to by my copilot wife. The CRM training we both have taken together pays...

Re: G1000 Components under back luggage compartment.

Actually, I do not think the knob is slipping. When turning the inner knob I can hear and feel the knob clicking when rotating. Also, on the last few flights, we would dial in a frequency on the MFD. Then, after a few minutes, the small numbers to the right of the decimal point would skip a few numb...

Re: G1000 Components under back luggage compartment.

Perfect! Thank you Paul. The issue we are having is on the PFD. When changing radio frequencies, the big outer ring knob that controls the large numbers works fine. The smaller inner knob the controls the smaller numbers to the right of the decimal point only works intermittently. Currently, we are ...

G1000 Components under back luggage compartment.

Hi All,
Does anyone have a photo of the G1000 components that are mounted under the rear luggage compartment? My plane is going into annual and I would like to unplug the connecters, clean all the contacts and then reconnect. If so, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Regards,
Don

Re: Insurance vs. age

This past year I hit 70 and my pilot wife is 69. Ninety eight percent of the time we fly together and both of us are CRM trained and share workload as a team. I never checked with our insurance company to see if they have a discount for CRM but probably worth a phone call to them. https://www.facebo...

Re: DA20/DV20 Wheel Fairing wanted

Contact South Bay Aviation in Torrance, CA. I believe they still have a set of main gear wheel pants off a Katana A1. Be sure to talk to Richard as he is the one there who knows about them. https://southbayaviation.com/

Bi Annual Question for DA 40 Pilots.

My wife is getting ready to do her Bi Annual. The CFI stated to her that one of the maneuvers he will require her to do is land the plane with flaps completely in the up position. Now I thought that was an unusual request as I have had nine prior Bi Annuals and never had been asked to that before. I...

Re: Custom tail number?

Since we have always ordered new Diamond Stars from the factory, four of them, we would reserve the numbers ahead of time. My pilot wife and I have the same initials, Don Stewart & Debbie Stewart which are the same initials as in Diamond Star. Our current tail number is N623DS. It is also easy t...
