Re: Fulfilling a lifelong dream!

Congratulations! I live by CRQ and my airplane is based in RNM. Welcome to the neighborhood! Come on by for a visit.

It's up, it's good! Lifelong dream achieved. Passed my PPL check ride yesterday in N193CA. KLGB, KHHR. Now, to have some fun flying VFR XC around SoCal and start studying for IR ...

Re: Fulfilling a lifelong dream!

This is 100 percent the reason I got back into ownership. Does it make financial sense? Not at all. But I have no problem getting in to my own airplane that I know like the back of my hand.

I've had the pleasure of corresponding offline with Paul and David about costs of ownership. A couple of ...

Re: Help problems with KAP 140 AP

I would not let a shop do it personally. I’ve figured it out. It can be done without removing the front seats. You definitely have to muscle it out and back in though.

Re: KAP 140 manual electric trim

Interesting. I never use the switch but I think mine has a delay also. It's had the delay since day 1 of my ownership 15 years ago

Re: Rudder pedal spring snapped

I hate to point out that a Chinese Grainger spring may not be the best thing to do on a primary flight control. This definitely doesn't pass the legality test even if it's the exact same part.

Re: DA-40 Lycoming and steam

Good choice. I have always thought the steam gage airplanes to be superior to the G1000 airplanes. They are far lighter with a better CG. The KAP-140 is a downside but it still does the job.

That would be great guys. I'm going to go out today and just switch bulbs left and right and see if the issue follows.

Re: Nose gear recurring AD

This makes a lot of sense to me. I doubt there is any data.

A lot of discussion in this thread about the potential for poor landings and flight school use causing these cracks. Any thoughts on the potential for tugs to cause these cracks and potential failure? I know my tug puts a decent amount ...
