Re: New Wing Spar AD

When I had my wing spar done, a piece of plastic was laid down, the carbon fibre was put on the plastic then the resin. Another piece of plastic was put over top and a bond scraper was used to get the resin into all of the carbon fibre and get rid of any air bubbles. Once that was done there was no ...

Re: Starting problems

I thought the starting problem was fixed a month ago, but it reappeared a week later. I went over slickstart troubleshooting manual and did all of the tests that I could. Pulled the plugs, checked the timing, both were good. Continuity check on all of the wire check and cleaned all of the connection...

Re: Starting problems

Thanks, the starting problem sounds like mine but the stumbling is something that is new to me. The plugs were just done 6 flying hours ago but I'm going to pull the plugs and check them today.

Re: Starting problems

Hi Todd, What was the outcome of your issue? I had an issue today that had me return to the airport. I have a 2002 with slick start. Hard starting, took three tries. Run up was good, each mag drop was 110. Take off and climb was normal. When I got to 6500 ft. prop back to 2200 mixture 22.6. When I w...

Re: Starting problems

I went to go flying the other day and I had a hard time starting, twice. I never had the problem before either. What is the cost to replace with surestart.

Re: Flat tires

Hi Russ, Thanks, I machined it out of an aluminum block. Just to clarify I didn't make the strut jack any bigger than the drawing.

Re: Flat tires

I also made it a little wider and glued in a thin piece of rubber to prevent damage to the paint on the strut

Re: Flat tires

Well I finally got tired of trying to lift the plane from the wing. It took forever and always had to block the tail or it would drop to the ground. I decided to make a lifting plate that I can carry in the plane as it only weighs .54 kg. It fits between the bottom two brake line clips. I used it th...
