Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition
A “cure” that works on some airplanes is the capacitive input power filter. I'm now one of them. After working with them and providing large quantities of g1000 log data, we found that our main voltage had a sawtooth pattern. Apparently a pea under the mattress was enough to cause the issues, and s...

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition
I'm curious if anyone else has experienced any problems? Response to my experience has been lacking here. Rich, you may be the only DA40 owner on this Forum who has a SureFly installed. He's.... not. It sounds like we have the same problem right now. I'm guessing you're the "composite plane ha...

Re: BasicMed and Diamond
I bet anyone that wanted a seat removed could have that done. It's not unheard of.carym wrote:However, I won't be able to fly that beautiful new DA62 sitting next to my DA42, since it is certificated for 7 seats and we are limited to 6 seat airplanes.
Are you going to retrieve your 42?

Re: Next Generation G1000
The February 2017 issue of Flying magazine provides some additional information about the G1000 NXi. In the King Air, it mentions that the only hardware needed to upgrade a previous G1000 installation to NXi is replacement of the PFD/MFD screens and a keypad (plus new software), all of which it cla...

The nag messages for this are back while using a mobile browser. They're... super annoying and the site probably shouldn't be advertising for them.

Governor repair / overhaul
Does anyone have information on typical costs to inspect and then repair or overhaul the Hartzell propellor governor? Quote's getting put together and sent over tomorrow, hoping to get some information on shops and rates to make the best decision.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: Your guesstimate: TKS for DA40
Antoine, You might want to look here as well: http://www.kellyaerospace.com/thermawing-aircraft-deice.html C300/350/400 and apparently soon sr20/22? All electric, so just need that extra alternator instead of a tank of goop. Honestly I'd also have concerns of being underpowered in general, let alone...

Re: AirVenture 2016 Oshkosh
Confirmed, Diamond has a really nice setup at Oshkosh this year. And the major plus (for me, anyways) is that folks working the area will actually talk to you... I guess I don't look the part enough for the other manufacturers.
Make sure to stop by and see the latest DA42 SB.

Re: Garmin G5 to be available for certified aircraft
I saw it today. Seemed nice. Would be interesting to do a side-by-side of the Sandia, Dynon, and the Garmin. Personal pet peeve on all of them, not flush mount on the panel.
Not sure I'd want to pay the mid-cont premium just to have that though...
