Re: DA42 Engine Failure in Amsterda
Yep,it is our 42. The pilot encountered a ecu a and b failure during take off in solid imc and the sensation off less power on that engine. That’s why the call was made. In fact, the engine never stopped producing power and when the power was brought back to like 60/70% ,one ecu warning disappeared ...

Re: Cabin air vents suddenly not venting air in flight
I experienced the exact same thing 3 weeks ago. The air stopped very abruptly flowing from the vents. It sounded like a hose was bent or tightened and there is no more passage of air possible. As sudden as this came,it also went away. This repeated 3 or 4 times. I believed I was triggered by the fac...

Re: G1000 clock problem
To overcome the voltage drop during start Diamond has issued the RSB D4-082/1, which solves this problem This has been done on ours , but sometimes the problem comes back. As a part of my personal checklist , after I started the engine, I always go to the aux page and then to the sub page with GPS1 ...

Re: G1000 clock problem
We also see this problem sometimes and always is the case that one GPS is offline. It's due to the fact that the diesel causes a voltage dip when starting. Maybe you have the same problem ?

Re: PFD and MFD rebooting after engine starts
This seems to be a problem for al the thielert ones. The cause seems to be a significant voltage drop during the start. Obviously the starter of the diesel engine draws a lot current from the battery. This causes the voltage to drop a lot. That's why the garmin restarts. There is a to fix this probl...

Re: Landing at Philadelphia International Airport
Yes, EHAM is our homebase and it's Holland's most expensive airport. The landing is €140,-- and then you get handling fee from KLM jetcentre if you are not based. That would set you back another 350 euro's . On the other hand it is perfect for IFR flying and 24/7 usable. If you are planning to fly t...

Re: Landing at Philadelphia International Airport
You're all blessed in the states with that sort of landing fees. All in perspective , I paid a whopping 900+ euro's for landing and handling fees at Le Bourget in Paris last year. In dollars would be more than $ 1000,--

Re: AP trimfail on a DA 40 D
Still no solution found for the AP. We did the reset a few weeks ago and its running fine for now , but its only a matter of time that we will see a pitch trim fail again. The mechanic told me that this problem occurs more often on the diamond than in other aircraft , which also use the KAP 140. So ...
