Re: Mower one, Diamond zero

I decided to go with Glenn Lawler as he was able to help me with a previous Diamond, fixing the plane when others were unable too. I am struggling with the town and their adjuster, they don’t understand why I cannot take it for multiple estimates like you can do with a car. I do not have the time to...

Re: Mower one, Diamond zero

Thanks, I was going to touch base with Glenn Lawler on Monday. The airport is on the hook for the repair as they caused the damage. I am currently 700 miles from home, able to extend my work here, but I would prefer to get the plane repaired sooner than later so that I can fly her home.

My 2007DA40XL lost a battle with an airport mower; does anyone know of an available serviceable rudder?

Re: Powerflow Hanger Strap

I talked to PowerFlow at Oshkosh and they said that they cut the straps out of baffle material, and it was recommended to double it up for better wear life.

Re: G1000 Data Logging

With help from Garmin and probably a lot of dumb luck today I have my G1000 data logging. The upper data card has to be the same size and type as lower cards and Garmin had me use a card with the full lower data load to trigger the logging. Thanks for all of the help.

Re: G1000 Data Logging

Yes, the upper MFD slot is reading for my updates, and I have tried numerous cards so the issue is not with the cards. Garmin is closed today for the holiday so I will see if they have any additional insight tomorrow.

Re: G1000 Data Logging

So I tried the full format on an older 4gb SD card and no luck, I also cycled the card in and out numerous times, but I question dirty contacts as it uploads the nav DB ok. Tomorrow I will check with Garmin to verify if version 0321.22 supports data logging, and if not off to the dealer. Thanks for ...

Re: G1000 Data Logging

I have tried 8, 4 and 2 gig so cards no joy. If I go into the maintenance menu it will recognize the card on the first time I cycle the power after exiting the menu, but no luck afterwards.

G1000 Data Logging

I recently purchased a 2007 DA40 XL non-WAAS with synthetic vision and I have been unable to get the flight data logging to work, despite numerous calls with Garmin. I have formatted several different SD cards fo the top slot of my MFD. Occasionally I can get the unit to recognize the card which I v...

Re: Managing cabin temperature

Last summer we flew Baja Mexico at up to 117' F, I created these plastic vents to increase the cabin airflow and outside of the increased noise they flew well up to 140 knots. I traced the opening and cut out the vent opening on some 3/4" plywood. I clamped the plastic over the opening in the p...
