Re: BRS

- Pilots; Language proficiency check (English) every 3 yrs – even with an FAA license and current BFR. It depends on proficiency level you demonstrate - it can be 6 years or lifetime if you're level 5 or 6. Since EASA covers just few countries where English is native language for majority of citize...

Such placard would leave me flying alone all the time.

Re: BRS

you know we look a bit jealous to the US with your agency … as we stick to our EASA Monster :scream: ….. hope you can keep your easy track People very often repeat that EASA complicates this or that, prevents this or that but in reality they are just repeating what they've heard or read somewhere w...

Re: DA50 base MSRP Guesstimate

I think it would look very nice -- especially in flight with gear retracted. I agree - personally I don't see anything ugly in its shape. As for the center stick, as a pilot I greatly prefer it for the feel and better mechanical leverage it gives compared to a side stick (especially when compared t...

Re: G1000 KAP 140 NAV to APR transition question

I have been having trouble with the KAP140 as it behaves fine in NAV mode for cruise flight, but I haven’t been able to get it to fly a GPS approach properly. When flying the GPS approach I get to the IAF with the KAP140 in NAV mode; in the approach it tracks the first leg and I set APR mode. Once ...

Re: DA50 base MSRP Guesstimate

This said, I find the DA50 hopelessly ugly, the ugliest plane Diamond ever presented. But that's just a matter of personal taste I suppose... It's not soooo ugly in live but as you said it's matter of personal taste. What bothers more is insisting on (really ugly) center stick for DA62 and DA50. Al...

Re: DA42 engine out emergency at KTOA yesterday.

I could be wrong but I see much more issues like this in Austro than in CD, at least these days.

Product management, product marketing, customer communication, sales training, sales support and after sales customer support are all very weak at Diamond.
Pretty good summary of “W” in SWOT analysis.

Re: DA50 base MSRP Guesstimate

Initial info I got was €850k which is roughly $1 mil. It should definitely outperform DA62 and my guess is that it would be able to reach 190 KTAS. I don't see usability of fixed gear version and I guess it's just transition phase to speed up certification.

Re: Outdated Garmin G1000 software - petition sign-up

One of Diamonds representative during friedrichshafen told me that it is possible to upgrade to G1000 NXi and he is going to send me a quote. (My aircraft is DA42NG) I had talked to Garmin at Airventure last year, and they are looking at providing an upgrade path to NXi for existing legacy G1000 in...
