Re: Prop Damage

The procedure is coming from somewhere, just wondering where. Strange stuff can come from various sources, some can be passed over generations of instructors although they are absolutely wrong. My favorite one is a myth of ice bridging on pneumatic deicing boots. It used to be problem on very first...

Re: Prop Damage

…static run up at takeoff to check for max power… Why would you do this on normal takeoff if there’s sufficient runway available for stop in case loss of power / no sufficient power developed during ground run? Does everyone runup power to max before brake release? Only for short field takeoff.

It’s hard to comment any accident without knowing the facts but this area is full of airports. Comparing to Europe, US are littered with airports which greatly increases safety of flying.

Re: DA50 vs The World

By any measure, Cirrus has the best safety record in GA. Sometimes it's accident rate is half. The increase in safety is not all or even mostly chute related. The Garmin avionics and the investments Cirrus made in standardized training are mainly to be credited. The only problem with statements lik...

Re: Diamond Pilots Association 2023 Survey

I fully agree here. You should have the email contact from the survey. Just send it out to everyone who participated. I’m ok if it’s not public. Ed - The point is that this was not advised at the time. Anyone spending his or her time to complete the survey has a right to see the final survey result...
