You can also tie a figure 8 on the existing tie down ropes and attach the slide down to the end of that. It’s been working for me for years, through hurricanes and more.

Since mine is a permanent install at home base I tied the figure 8 through the slide down’s figure 8 so that they cannot separate.

I hope that your inflator has a CO2 cartridge that is activated by a pull toggle, rather than immersion. What do you guys think about picking the lake? I’d pick the rockiest field over water. With water, you are likely to flip vs skid over ground. Be careful when re-engaging that primary bolt. The secondary will hold well until you land when it’s engaged because of how it hooks into the frame. I would email Garmin support about it, or ask my avionics shop to investigate during next scheduled Avionics check. G1000 is antique tech, I wouldn’t assume that there is only 1 setting to control max fuel limit.
