You likely thought about this already... swap the EGT4 sensor with another cylinder, fly a bit, then see if the "problem" moves with the sensor.

David, seems you did a superb job… in prep, in mitigation, and in canceling IFR and using the tools to successfully navigate the terrain. We can’t avoid all risks… but —- as you did so well — we can prep, mitigate, and adapt.

Since DPA has direct contact with Diamond, would it make sense to send a "maybe we're missing something, but WTF?!" email to Diamond?? (and post the response here)

I don't see why Diamond Aircraft would want yet another contact channel... with existing DAN and DPA outlets so productively representing owners and pilots. Why doesn't Diamond become much more active in DAN and DPA?! Hmmm.

I've carried this document (as a PDF on my phone) on dozens and dozens of trips to Mexico and beyond... and never been asked for it.
