Re: Diamond Pilot Proficieny Course
Hi everyone,
The timing of this conversation thread is seems serendipitous. Diamond Aircraft has been actively working on a new/recurrent training program for owners who are transitioning or interested in becoming more familiar with their aircraft. The "Diamond Brilliance Training Program" will ...

Re: No LNAV +V
I'm also confused... I've flown my DA40 with G1000 Legacy (I do have the mid-2010s software update) at least 50 times on LPV approaches (and also many many +V). Here's the interactive "cockpit" view in FlySto for the RNAV rwy 29 at KSBP to LPV minimums.

Re: No LNAV +V
Dennis, since your screen grab shows "No GPS Position" (are you in your hangar?)... and in concert with Russ' point on SBAS... it's likely that you need a solid active GPS signal for the +V option to come up.

Re: Quick Tip: FlySto for Flight Data Analysis
Very cool… wasn’t sure FlySto could do the merge. Very clever development team!

Re: Fulfilling a lifelong dream!
To Russ' "handbook" approach... how 'bout closely "monitoring" to assure that the lessee flies the aircraft as specified in the Handbook?? The FlySto.net product can definitely provide this monitoring... either by requiring that the lessee upload flight data after every flight, or by installing an ...

Re: MOSAIC
I'm hoping Rich and others will check me on this.
But on the POH/AFM that I have, I find the following two sets of data (attached below):
From these for my N211WP (2008 2646#) I derive:
-- stall speed clean (flaps up) = 53 KIAS
-- airspeed calibration (flaps up) is difficult to interpolate, but at ...

Re: Fulfilling a lifelong dream!
Craig, big-time congratulations... we all know the awesome feeling of accomplishment.
Next time you're up Santa Barbara way, I'm buying lunch!

P.S. A heads up... IMHO the IR is (at least mentally) even more challenging and gratifying than the PPL.

Quick Tip: FlySto for Flight Data Analysis
Are you flying behind a Modern Glass Panel, perhaps a Cirrus, Diamond, or retro-fit Bonanza? It might be news to you that there’s a treasure trove of Flight Data right under your nose. Welcome aboard! Wayne, GeezerGeek Pilot

Re: G1000 Terrain database issue after erasing all
I pretty much follow David's protocol. In addition to uploading to Savvy for engine analysis (GAMI Lean Test, LOP Mag Check, etc) I also upload to FlySto for insight on aircraft and pilot performance (or in the latter case, lack thereof
).

Re: Garmin Smart Charts
Somewhat aligned with Russ' points... what an aircraft should have is essentially "CarPlay"... i.e. have all the real smarts in the portable device (e.g. iPad) that syncs always and forever with what's in the panel. The panel is relatively dumb and with little need for upgrades... all the ...
