Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing

I just tried with a non-Laminar aircraft -- the Aerobask DA50RG (which BTW is quite a good implementation -- and it worked fine, with similar observations to Mark's:
-- SIDs transfer as waypoints, but the procedure is lost (I'm guessing the same for STARs)
-- Approaches get some waypoints, but the ...

Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing

Ok, got a new version that hopefully has been fixed for IOS 18. I spent such much time debugging the IOS 18 issue, didnt have much time to fix the interface. I accidently changed the minor version to 1.1.0 and it has to go to Apple for approval before you will see it for testing. Stay tuned ...

Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing

What am I supposed to see? I see you mention something about cleaning the UI. What UI? Here's my steps and the result.

Download the app through Testflight
Start the app.
Get the prompt about connecting and say yes.

Re: XPlane Simulated ForeFlight and FlightStream Syncing

Trying to revive this post.

I'm trying to figure out what Ingram did with his FlightStream and capture a FF flight plan on a Python-written wifi server. Trying to reverse engineer the foreflight protocols to the best of my abilities I've used Wireshark to capture the UDP/TCP packets over my wifi ...

Re: Identifying Ice

Also be alert for prop roughness -- this happened to me once at 12,500' over central Texas. At the same time we picked up a burst of ice dust on the wing leading edges. We solved the wing issue by descending to warmer air... and shed the bit of ice on the prop by pushing up the prop RPMs to full ...

Re: Purchasing Advice on DA40

My pro/con over-simplified view of the options you're looking at:

* if you're >25% of the time flying with 4 adults, east of the Rockies: C182
* if you're >25% of the time flying with 4 adults, Rockies and westward: C182T

* if you're flying often (>5 times per year) outside the USA: DA40NG -- runs ...

Sounds right for full flaps in a Lycoming DA40.
Nicely done,

Re: Mag check failure

Ok here’s what I’ve tried and learned. Happy to get your advice. I’ll try to be super brief

Plug fouls.
We are definitely leaning the engine esp during taxi
Happens after plane has sat
Always happens in the same cylinder — I moved the plug and it followed the cylinder
Only one plug in the ...
