Re: Seat Cushions

Hi Lee,

Where are you located? This is for a DA20-A1? I'm based in southeast Wisconsin. Kind of bulky to ship

Re: Propellor Needed desperately.

We have the DA20-A1 model. It has a constant speed prop. Unless of course you have one of those? :-)

Re: Propellor Needed desperately.

Ouch. Didn't realize you were till looking. Can you buy a new one? When I looked a long time ago, Hoffman seemed like a pretty small company. I couldn't find much info on their products / prices. I think MT has an STC for the A1's. I have a price list from them from last year. Pretty expensive thoug...

Re: NLG Replacement Rubber

I finally got around to replacing my "pucks". I ended up borrowing a spring / strut compressor at AutoZone to compress them together enough to get the nut on there. Here is a link to the tool: https://www.harborfreight.com/macpherson-strut-spring-compressor-set-63262.html?cid=paid_google|||63262&utm...

Re: Propellor Needed desperately.

Hi Lee, Can you share with us the cost to overhaul the Hoffman prop? Mine needs some touch up on the blade leading edge (I can probably use liquid rubber again). Was going to have the gearbox overhauled and if its not too expensive (and time consuming), maybe I'll do the prop at the same time.

Re: Painting metal parts

Hate to reply to my own post, but it seems like its a big issue getting BASF paint. Ended up using a rustoleum paint that matched pretty well. -John

Painting metal parts

I have some areas I want to repaint (chipped paint, small surface rust) on the NLG and MLG. Overall very small areas. I see the paint listed as BASF Paint HS82004. (Olympia White). Can I source this paint locally at a body shop? What is the minimum quantity? Surface prep would be solvent, sanding, t...

Re: radiator part number or rebuild

Hi Jerry,

It is a standard Rotax 912 part. You can and should consider upgrading to the higher capacity radiator while you are at it (it is the same size as the old one). I don't have the parts catalog handy, but could look it up for you if you need.

Re: part number or repairs on elevator

You should do some searches (maybe ebay?). I have seen complete aircraft minus engine avionics, etc. I think they are usually the C1 model though. Would be the cheapest this way. You can pull up the parts manual for the DA20-A1 and the DA20-C1 and compare. Let me know if you need help with this. I w...

DA20 jack recommendation

I forgot how we jacked up my Katana last time. I think we may have used an automotive jack and a 2x4. I think the jack plate was smaller than the one my mechanic had. Can someone recommend an inexpensive compatible jack?
