Re: Yet another fuel pump failure on 2003 DA 40

Wrap the DC wires around a ferrite core 2 or 3 times it can help to reduce the RFI, they absorb the RFI and won't allow it to continue along the wires. It is best to get the ferrite core as close to the pump as possible. You will have to disconnect the wires at some point in order to get them to go ...

Re: MSB for 2017-19 fuel tank connection hoses

I read the entire AD and there is no mention of my year/model 2005/DA40-180 and since I have not replaced my hoses I consider this unrelated to my plane. But in the interest of safety, I will inspect my hoses more carefully.

I have a 2005 and never had the hoses replaced. I have a boroscope so any instructions how to get into the wing to inspect the hoses?

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"

So if I can find a GIA63W any idea what other costs are involved in upgrading the G1000 in the DA40 (2005) to WAAS?

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition

Steven, do you have any performance data that you can share since installing the Surefly ignition? Also, were you able to activate the variable timing option since it appears to be available in Surefly’s application guide for the IO360-M1A, but a previous post indicated it might not yet be ready? I...

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition

I replaced my right mag with the Surefly. By doing so i could keep my Slick Start. If you want to use the Surefly on the left side then you need to remove the Slick Start system.

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"

Did anyone get an answer to the question:
Does Diamond get to keep the GIA63Ws (worth as much as $20K) as part of this upgrade?
If I can sell my GIA63w’s then it would bring the cost down to $5000-7000.
