Re: Which tape for wing gaps ?

We are doing a B-bolt check at the 100 hour interval usually means replacing the tape. The 4811 seems to come off a little easier than it used to any ways. Our inspection intervals are 75 hour (former 50 hour) 150 hour (former 100 hour) 300 hour (former 200 hour) 1500 hour (former 1000 hour) and 600...

Re: Which tape for wing gaps ?

Diamond said that they could no longer sell the 4811 so they recommended we use the 3m 471-2 I guess no one looked at the specs which said that this tape was only good to about 20 degrees or so. Needless to say I would not buy it again. 3M says they are going to start producing the 4811 again in Apr...

Re: Da-20 Low Oil Temp High Oil Pressure.

As Kesk mentions there are baffles for the engine cowlings both inlet and outlet. Service Bulletin No.: DACi-71-03 Rev 0 talks about the installation of baffles. http://support.diamond-air.at/techpubs+M52087573ab0.html The SB says: A new winterization kit has been developed, consisting of the existi...

Re: Static RPM

After my digital question I think that we have installed at least 8 digital tachs in our DA20-C1's. Students and instructors as well as maintenance love them.

Alternative Engine for DA20-C!

Hello everyone, with alternative fuels and GAMI etc. floating around in the news I was wondering if anyone had heard of a diesel engine conversion for the DA20-C1. I know that weight is probably an issue with the smaller engines produced for a/c like the C172. Just wondering if anyone has heard anyt...

Re: Static RPM

Has anyone ever found/installed a digital tach in the C1? Would like to know if there are any kits out there that people have used. Diamond is telling me that the 4 tachs that I ordered may be on hand by mid July from Superior. I won't hold my breath.

Re: Hydraulic Pump Actuating while taxiing

Not knowing the Diamond twins all that well but having dealt with a few 100 piper products sometimes if you don't have a downlock switch rigged properly it will tell the system the gear is not down and locked. This makes the pump actuate and activates the switch so the pump shuts off. You can keep a...

Re: Oil filter availability

You can always buy one on Ebay (no gouging going on there). Champion CH48110-1 Oil Filter "Brand New" C $250.00 for one. On the bright side it does appear that Champion is starting to ramp up production as well as Tempest. Unfortunately the Challenger filter systems are as far away as the ...

Re: Here's something of interest to all

Wow not much time at all on the airframe. Definitely no shortage of moisture out on the coast here which doesn't help us much.

Re: Here's something of interest to all

Actually the SDR database is very easy to search (which I did this morning). I didn't see anything there that may have been the report. I did see the Pueblo report which sort of made me laugh. What it doesn't say is that the area they are referring where the bolts are do get moisture and the bolts s...
