Re: Power Flow

Rich, hope this works. What color buffing compound are you using? I have green which I have used on stainless with good results.

Re: Corked Nose Wheel

This is just a fun project - really to satisfy my curiosity. I know the Bretfin works, but I want to play with some other ideas. I was mostly wondering if the scale effects would even allow a model to be used - it looks like it does, at least to some degree. I want to see if it's possible to reduce ...

Re: Corked Nose Wheel

This weekend I finally did some work to diagnose the problem and I think I have made some progress! I built a fully castering 1/4 Scale model of the nosewheel and mounted it on a car rack as a make shift wind tunnel! :D Quarter Scale Nosewheel model.jpg I have theory on why this behaviour occurs and...

Re: Dead battery

Did your Hobbs advance a bunch? Mine did when I did the same thing last year. My battery was 5 or 6 years old so I opted to replace.

Re: Grande Canyon Corridors - GPS Waypoints

Hi there, I made an FPL file that contains all the corridors. Copy the file to the top card and then load the file. This will load the following waypoints (note names are not official - just my own shorthand): Tuckup Corridor: TUCK01 (North), TUCK02 (South); Fossil Canyon Corridor: FOSS01, FOSS02; D...

Re: Canadian flight training

Maybe the only nice thing anyone has ever said about Canada geese! Lol

And in a spirit of reciprocity, last Saturday we were at 4500’ SW of CYZU when a bald eagle circle up right beside us in a thermal - spectacular. Too bad it happened too fast to grab a camera!

Re: 29 DA20s, 7 DA42s, 5 DA 40s tragically for sale

Not completely clear what happened from the news article. Sounds like the Chinese airline customers pulled the students. From what I have seen locally, they drive prices down on a promise of large numbers of students. Flight schools (and airports) get mesmerized and build out facilities and fleets. ...

Re: Mx and Flying during stay home order times

We are flying up here. In fact, with the drop in commercial traffic, I think ATC has never been happier to help out GA aircraft. The local FB page is busy with guys posting. I had my annual done last week and never broke any social distancing requirement. Flight schools are shut down mind you. Most ...

Re: Why I love my DA40

I watch the CHT’s. They actually cool off at peak EGT. I can run a hair on the LOP side sometimes, just not today. The famous “hotbox” is quite evident in the 0-75 ROP environment.
