Well Tim, that’s one of the reasons I have moved away from Diamond. I have only one life time and that’s short enough.

Your best investment in pilot/passenger safety is pilot proficiency. It is by far, the best and most inexpensive way to maintain safety. This point cannot be argued, only accepted, or, rejected. The choice is yours.

I wouldn't survive an engine out in a Deathstar. I know my limitations. I flew 14hrs in the DA42 with one engine shut down and feathered. I was as comfortable as I was in my DA40. Well, not quite. I do have a 600k Aerostar that will do 250 kts. with ease with state of the art all Garmin TXI XI avionics including zero time rebuilt counter rotating engines.
