Re: DA40NG Coolant Leak and ECU A Failure

In my inquiries I didn't intend to single out Cirrus. But the aircraft make/models in this particular set of searches were chosen because the engine manufacturer is easily determined. This is not so readily done with others.

Re: Alternator slow to wake up

Ok, here's a bit of a shot in the dark. The VR has an adjustment screw to fine-tune the voltage target. Try turning that back and forth a bit to try to wipe away possible contamination or oxidation. Beyond that (or maybe in combination) it seems like something in the VR needs to warm up before it wo...

Here's another case:

The question mark in the "real" subject is a factor in the anomaly. Didn't happen prior to the upgrade. This is hardly a high-impact problem, of course.

It turned out they can no longer support these older ones as they don’t have parts for them. They many years out of p...

One bit of convenience lost is that if you are looking at a topic within a forum, you no longer have the useful tag on the screen to jump directly back to that forum's screen to display all its topics.

Re: Emergency landing checklist

The difference is that the vast majority of aircraft are made of aluminum, and the structure of the aircraft is expected to deform as it absorbs impact forces in a crash -- potentially jamming exit doors shut. In contrast, composite aircraft structures fracture or break rather than deform. So a Dia...

Re: Fuel Quantity Gauge failed

Could be moisture in a sensor. If you have the 50-gallon version there are two sensors per side and additional connectors. Try everything else before replacing these sensors. I replaced one of mine years ago at the part price was $1,700.
