Re: Ipad Mini Mount Recommendations for DA 40

Just as a comparison, for those flying pre-2003 DA40s, mounting the iPad Mini is a bit easier. Mine is mounted in one of the unused instrument cutouts, using an Angerole mount. It is really nice - all anodized aluminum, and fairly adjustable: Should read "pre-2002" models. The panel on my...

Re: Canada ADS-B Diversity Requirement

Is any other manufacturer including diversity ADS-B equipment in their planes? The Garmin offerings (335/345) will supply diversity but require an external GPS source if you have that option. My understanding from posts here is the G1000 can't supply the required feed.

Re: Used Aircraft Market

Inventories may be up, but some airframes are hot commodities. I have an acquaintance who was looking at an 18,000-hour 1975 C172 but it got snatched up within a week, along with two others the same guy was selling.

Re: Lack of speed indications

The G1000 should show (as mine does) that the pitot heat isn't working whenever current isn't being drawn by the pitot heaters. Did this show up or not? Could there be some water trapped in a low point in the pitot line away from the port itself and it freezes due to some exposure to cold air along ...

Re: Lack of speed indications

This is obviously symptomatic of a clogged pitot tube/line, not a static system problem. The latter would produce a rising airspeed on descent, not falling. Plus the altimeter and VSI would not show the descent.

Re: Delta Hawk DHK180

It should be expected that the inverted V of the cylinders would produce some amount of smoking on startup. My old Honda Gold Wing was a 4-stroke boxer engine. On startup it would often produce smoke from the left cylinders if it had been parked using the side stand. This situation would leave those...

But it's easy to creat a gust lock that works with the pedals full forward.

Original & modified compared. That's a piece of wooden mop handle inserted:

Re: Prop Damage

Let me just say a rock chip on the leading edge is an 8k repair at American Propeller Service and it takes time! Go carefully all. It can be. It depends on the extent. I had one like this that was just barely bad enough to require this treatment and it was this expensive when including shipping - i...

Re: Lightspeed Delta Zulu

Unique experience today. A firmware update (???) for the Delta Zulu  Well, now. My flight a few days ago found the headset repeatedly saying "Battery Charge Full". Annoying - like "are we there yet?" It used to just do this once per startup. I queried LS, and wadda-ya-k...
