Re: Mass and Balance TKS

Minimum dispatch TKS level for flight into known icing is 3/4 full. I never fill more than that. Makes a huge difference in CG.

Re: Newbie Question 1 - Flaps UP takeoff

Not sure why this has become much of a debate. The wrench thrown in the discussion has been "Vmca", so lets, for a moment just back off and take a look at the definition of the term. Vmca is "Minimum control speed airborne ". My emphasis on "airborne" is because it is a...

Re: Best Place for initial training

Insurance said a minimum of 10 hours Dual and then 15 solo before carrying passengers. Most cost effective solution would be to hire a CFII MEL on your home field to fly his required 5 hours in type with the DA62 delivery pilot (also CFII MEL) in order to instruct you for the required 10 hours. You...

Re: Refilling TKS

Currently $16.42 per gallon including shipping from tksfluid.com in 55 gallon drums. I ordered my first drum 5 years ago, and have used a little over half of it over the course of 500+ hours of DA42/DA62 flying. Tiny fraction of operational cost.

I believe that the part number that you circled in your PM (AV24LC404) is the correct one. I'm a couple of days away from my maintenance records, and will try to verify when I get home.

Re: DA62 dimensions

I've found dimensions scaled from this drawing to be accurate within 1/4" or so. Hope it helps:

Re: DA62 Length Question

I just had the Beringer wheels and brakes installed: I’m still using the Sidewinder I bought for the DA62 two years ago, without modification. Thanks for that! Was waffling on whether or not to upgrade to the Beringer wheel/brake system for my DA62, and this tips the scale a tiny bit. Warning: Mass...

Re: DA62 Length Question

My Sidewinder is currently set up for my Bonanza, so good idea on calling now for the DA62 attachment. Good idea. Mine took months. One other thing - the standard DA62 Sidewinder fitting will not fit the Beringer nosewheel. See if they currently have the specs for that wheel and can fabricate the n...

Re: Q: How do you fit a 48' wingspan into a 48' hangar opening?

How long does that take you? I'd estimate about 10 minutes longer than pushing it straight in, 5 minutes longer than yoinking it straight out, compared to the DA42-VI I used to keep in the same hangar. Actual push/pull speed is much faster since I do not have to steer or monitor wingtip clearance. ...
