Re: Crazy Pricing?

As I prepare to put my 2002 DA40 on the market - I used the AOPA VREF calculator to adjust the base price with the 40K+ worth of modifications I have made to the airplane in the past three years of ownership. As an aside - Something I learned by the VREF site is that by serial number my aircraft is ...

Re: DA40 Max Landing Weight

I had the same upgrade completed this summer and the all in cost was $6,600. More importantly this upgrade increased my useful load for my 2002 DA40 to 935.6 lbs.

Re: Considering switch to Hartzell 2-Blade Prop from MT

It may seem like a very shallow reason why last year I replaced my original MT 3 bladed prop with another MT 3 bladed prop - but the reason was I like the look of our DA40's with the 3 bladed prop.

Re: Portable Hangar parking sensor

I really liked the hinged 2x4's I too painted three lines to guide me while using a tug Additionally, I used a very crude sensor before I moved to an FBO shared hanger. This "sensor" was merely old two foot long sections of 4x4 that I stood on end at the wing's hanger clearance points. Eac...

Re: Failure of electric rudder pedal adjustment

I have the manual pedals on my DA40. Recently, when retracting the pilot's pedals to engage the gust lock the lock release cable snapped as I got the pedals to the fully retracted position. Thankfully, I was at my home field and had finished flying for the day. But what was also nice was that with a...

Re: Diamond Fly In Loveland, CO (KFNL) 8/21/2021

My wife and I are currently planning on attending - flying from eastern Pennsylvania. Having never flown in this part of the country, what kind of winds should we expect in late August?

Re: Shoes

I am with Thomas - while I don't have Alpine terrain to contend with - I fly with the shoes I find most comfortable - hiking boots. Mind you, I started flying the DA40 with driving shoes. Yet to avoid having to change from flying to street shoes, I forced myself to just get comfortable flying with t...

Re: Flightstream 510 - Connection Issues

I have a Flightstream 210 ... when it’s working I love it. Yet it can seem like black magic as to when it decides it will pair with the iPad and when it won’t. We have been advised by our avionics shop not to have ForeFlight running as we have in our case the Garmin 530W Aux page opened to pair. We ...
