Re: DA62 down in Dubai

Assuming the initial report and assumption is correct, which appears more than likely in view of video footage taken at the time, I wonder just how the statistics are treated when (i) It was carrying out a low level, higher than normal risk, commercial operation; and (ii) the accident was a result o...

Re: DA62 down in Dubai

Please find below a very informative link to a video of an accident caused by wake vortex, which has been published by BFU Germany. The more we are aware of wake vortex the better and, in this particular case, the wake vortex was generated by a 5 tonne bi-plane!! https://www.bfu-web.de/EN/Service/V1...

Aircraft Fueling Wing Mat

For those looking to protect their wing areas from scratches and/or damage during refueling, I came across this great Aircraft Fueling Wing Mat. Made of high impact absorbing non-abrasive urethane polymer, it is chemical and fuel resistant and flame retardant with operating temperatures from –20° to...

Re: DA62 down in Dubai

Thanks for the update Emir,

Indeed, it looks very likely that this was the cause. Flight calibration can be very hazardous, more especially when operating at low level and at an extremely busy airport.

Shall await the official report.

Re: Autopilot/Electric Trim Circuit Breaker

Just push it over the CB and it will expand and fit tightly.

The red ring was delivered with my DA62 but good to show for those who did not receive same.

Autopilot/Electric Trim Circuit Breaker

In the, hopefully, unlikely event of a runaway Autopilot or Electric Trim which does not disengage for whatever reason using the red AP Disconnect button, you are left with no other option but to pull the circuit breaker. There may be very little time available and, therefore, to INSTANTLY recognise...
