Re: Failure of electric rudder pedal adjustment

Can someone give a good description of where the fuse is for the rudder pedal adjust motor? Mine just failed and the CB did not trip :/

Thanks!

Wheel Fairing fasteners?

Hey all - My wheel fairings were removed from my airplane for a few years while it was on leaseback. The airplane is now being operating by a few partners and we want to put the wheel fairings back on but I cannot find the fasteners for them. Anyone know what size they are or where I can find a diag...

Re: Anyone have an issue with bent gear legs?

Yep - Our mechanic just did the entire measurement procedure. The main gear currently has no shims on it. He said that you can shim each wheel to a maximum, total correction of not more than 2 degrees. Unfortunately, the right main is 2 degrees off on camber and 0.5 degrees off on toe-in, and the le...

Re: Anyone have an issue with bent gear legs?

Both wheels/legs are the same. I'm not sure which legs the other DA40 had on it. We are getting a strong push from our maintenance guys to replace the legs...but they're about $5000 for the pair.

Anyone have an issue with bent gear legs?

Our DA40 XLS has the long gear legs installed. Our maintenance guys have noticed asymmetrical tire wear since the day this aircraft went into service back in October. They sent me a photo comparison of our DA40 with another one on the field and it's pretty obvious that the wheels are contacting the ...

Re: new, refurbished DA40 woes

Hey, all, just want to give everyone on the thread an update on this stuff - The electrical system issues were 100% pilot related, as far as we can tell. Glenn Lawler was totally right - our rental pilot ran the battery down on the ground, probably due abusing the starter which was corroborated by t...

Re: new, refurbished DA40 woes

Glenn from SouthTec has been very cool in helping us troubleshoot stuff from a distance. Lifestyle has been good, too; they're all setting up some time to conference call about whether they will cover any of the cost for some of our initial "bugs". It would have been better for them to hav...

Re: new, refurbished DA40 woes

We are starting to wonder if the electrical emergency our renter had the other night was caused by the essential bus tie breaker popping. I’ve been reading up on it and Glenn Lawler brought it up as a potential candidate. The more I learn about it, the more I think this is what happened. What a weir...
