Re: worth upgrading to 321.23 ?

Checklist file goes on the upper MFD card. The card has to stay in the slot. The G1000 doesn’t store it internally.

Re: NG40 VS IO-360 real user pros and cons appreciated

I was in the same position making a decision last year. I ultimately chose a used DA40 XLS with a Lycoming engine of course. I did a lot of research on the DA40NG, flew one, and thought long and hard. Ultimately for me, the Lycoming had more tick marks in the plus column vs the NG. There’s a long th...

Re: Diamond on Facebook

I signed up twice last year and do not get anything from Diamond. I called Diamond Canada last year, gave them my email address. Still not on the list. I’ll try again.

Re: Diamond on Facebook

I wonder how they will announce their “news”? Their “press release” when they started producing the DA40 XLT again was almost as stealthy as a F-117.

Re: DA40 Air conditioning

I had my annual in the DA40 with cabin cool a/c. All that was done was a leak test, filter change, and mounting bracket check. It wasn’t $500.

Re: Good maintenance shops in New England/Northeast US for annual/avionics?

I had my prebuy and annual done at Three Wing last year. Nothing but good things to say. They are more expensive per hour than some other places. However, they were very thorough and knowledgeable. They picked up on discrepancies and A/D’s that had been passed over for several years. I know they’re ...

Re: DA40 NG Anomaly

If there’s a problem in the Lycoming version, you may still be able to generate power to get to a safe spot to land. You might kill your engine but I would choose that over no power and an uncontrolled landing. So you mean like exactly what happened with the OP? Partial power and return to the airp...

Re: DA40 NG Anomaly

I don’t have any advice on your problem but there have been a number of posts and reports of ECU failures. I personally looked into the DA40 NG and just couldn’t quite feel good about the engine long term. I didn’t like the idea of an ECU failure with loss of power and being unable to troubleshoot t...

Re: new, refurbished DA40 woes

Glad to hear you've figured out the pilot error and are getting support from the seller. All good things....except letting someone else fly your airplane, that sounds scary.
