Re: New MT propeller
The performance sounds great Ralphie! Is the new MT approved fir the airplane? What paperwork was required to comply with FAA regs? Yes its STC'd for the airframe. A 337 form is filed with the FAA. Pretty basic. MT will install and balance the prop for free if you fly to them for the install. They ...

Re: Auto Pilots in a DA20-C1?
Thanks Ralphie. Do you know if any other A/P units have been STC'd for the DA20? Do you know if you can purchase a copy of the STC from Diamond to have your Avionics shop do an STEC install? To my knowledge no other AP's are STC'd. I doubt Diamond would sell the STC but they might do the install fo...

Re: Auto Pilots in a DA20-C1?
This is why it is much easier to get software upgrades for the G500 compared to the G1000. I can go to any Garmin dealer but I believe that the G1000 software upgrades must be done by a Diamond service center. It does not always work this way. AmSafe has a STC for airbag belt installation in the DA...

Re: Auto Pilots in a DA20-C1?
You might be able get some information from Mayday Avionics in Grand Rapids Michigan. They installed the Garmin G500 in my DA40 and are a well respected shop. Garmin holds the STC for the G500 on the DA40 and DA20 thats why its easiy to get that done. Well its an extensive install not an easy one. ...

Re: Auto Pilots in a DA20-C1?
Welcome to the forum!!! Diamond holds the STC for the STEC-30 on the airframe not STEC so installation would require a field approval. I understand these are difficult to get if you can get one at all.....I've been told some FDSO won't do field approvals anymore..... I have one of the few DA20...

Re: Leather restoration
Yours looks nice too. Missing from my photos are my two blue Oregon Aero seat cushions. They really improve the comfort of the Katana seats. David I use the Oregon Aero cushions on my 2007 DA20 and really like them. The custom interior in the 2004 did not require the use them because of the additio...

Re: Leather restoration
Looks nice...... I've had two custom leather interiors made up for the Eclipses I've owned. Used all new Italian leather and sheepskin combo. The Eclipse has a lot more area of to recover. Plus they used new foam in some areas. All new upgraded carpets, control stick boots and side panels recovered ...

Re: New MT propeller
Cool.....I see 145-147 ktas on my DA20 with the MT prop. And on a couple of occasions I've seen 150 ktas....:) I thought there was a noticeable difference in climb until I put the old prop back on when my MT was in the shop. When I reinstalled the MT I saw no difference between the two climb wise......

Re: Experience with Bruce's Custom Covers vs. Kennon
I've owned several Bruce's covers. The one I have now is about 3 years old and has been outside for months at a time on my project planes. Still in great condition. Their service is excellent too..... I also have the light cover they make when I travel. Its great when you only plan to keep the plane...
