Re: Hole for OAT
There's also a predrilled hole on the right side just to the left of the hole for the Davtron probe. It's covered by a thin white membrane. That's where they mounted the temp probe for my JPI EDM 930. The indicated OAT for the Davtron and JPI probes are the same, on the ground and in the air. If ...

Re: EDM 930
Here's my delayed EDM 930 PIREP. The installation was straightforward. I had it done at an avionics shop that had some experience with my DA40 and also cared for two flight school DA42s. They brought in an outside mechanic to change the sensors and probes. A metal overlay panel was cut for the right ...

Re: VM1000 with sensors and probes for sale
There wasn't much interest in the whole VM1000 system, so here's a list of the individual components that were removed. Please PM me if you're interested. I'll keep parts for a while but then will probably try eBay. The V1000 was also used in some experimental planes and some years of the Husky, buy ...

Re: New owner experience :(
Probably not too many Diamond pilots have heard of Benton Harbor, MI or know where it is. I got my PPL at MDW in 1980 and remember a cross country flight to the area (C20). I still get back to Berrien Springs or SBN from time to time to visit relatives. It’s a beautiful area.

Re: One VERY High EGT
I have a friend who as a newer pilot had a new to him Mooney 201, and on a cross country trip his oil pressure dropped out. Despite a normal oil temp and not seeing oil he declared an emergency and was vectored for landing. They rolled the trucks and everything. It turned out to be a sensor.

VM1000 with sensors and probes for sale
Last month my avionics shop replaced my VM1000 with a JPI 930. I have all the VM1000 components, a list of part numbers, photos, and the manual. Is anyone interested, either for replacement parts or spares? Everything worked when it was removed. I would prefer to sell everything as a set, but will ...

Lycoming Wobble Test SB 388C
Has anyone had the Lycoming Wobble Test SB 388C done? If so did you need either reaming or new valve seats? My plane is in for it's annual now, and has never had the test done. The shop didn't bring it up, but I asked about it. They said it wouldn't be a bad idea. I've read the information that's ...

Re: EDM 930
My plane came back from the avionics shop last week and I had it for 4 days before it went in for it's annual. The JPI 930 installation went well and it seemed for work fine on a couple of brief flights. When I get a chance to fly with it a little more I'll follow up with a more detailed PIREP with ...

Re: KAP 140 manual electric trim
Today I tried out the new manual electric trim switch. Wow! What a difference. That was the problem. Now the trim switch activates the trim instantly. I guess I’m going to say it was worth it. I know it was expensive, but to be able to order a part for a 22 year old plane, and an out of production ...

Re: EGT configuration in engine data manager
Hi Armand, I’m getting my plane back tomorrow with a new JPI 930 engine monitor. The upper EGT limit came set at 1650F. I fount this article on the web and it also mentions the 1650 limit. The are no other EGT limits on my monitor.
