Re: Outrageously Low Jet A Pricing
How low can it go? Any idea what the distribution cost is even assuming the fuel cost $0 (which apparently oil hit today!) ?

Outrageously Low Jet A Pricing
My home base of AGC (Pittsburgh, PA) has a price war between the two FBOs, which is notable on top of the already dropping price of Jet A. Too bad I have nowhere to fly. Jet A is down to $2.12! Oddly that public price is lower than the AvFuel price. I wonder if the FBO would allow purchase now for u...

Re: Potential New DA62 Owner
A new purchase means NXi, which brings with it the option of a keypad, which is pretty huge. Not sure how familiar you are with the legacy G1000, but it is as massively capable as it is massively counterintuitive. The keyboard mitigates that weakness mightily, making the system much easier to use. ...

Re: Potential New DA62 Owner
Reading this thread and the comparison with the SR22T I wonder, if not a Meridian would be the right comparison. For 1,5 Mio € you might consider a 4 year old Meridian e.g. Have you looked at the W&B numbers for a Meridian? It is barely even a 2-seater with baggage. No chance it can fit 5 plus ...

Re: Flying the Caribbean (Part 5) - to Virgin Gorda -- Tower turned him right toward us!
Controllers... if you're working a non-radar environment, why wouldn't you bring a laptop to work (or whatever) so that FlightAware/FlightRadar24 would give a boost to your awareness of traffic under your control? Almost for sure there would be major employer/government restrictions against doing t...

Introduction - New DA62 Pilot
I have been lurking/reading/learning here for quite some time and just wanted to say thanks and hello. I have been flying for 25+ years, including owning/teaching in a Cessna P210 for many years, then a Cessna 421 for a few years. I am now a Diamondshare member in a new DA62 - just finished my first...

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"
However, many owners in past years chose not to upgrade primarily because of the high cost: more than $20K. Now they're unable to upgrade at any price because there are no more GIA63Ws available from Garmin, and these aircraft aren't certified for (nor will their software support) newer GIA64Ws tha...

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"
Earlier models that have WAAS installed can also fly LPV and LP approaches. The issue is that it's no longer straightforward to add WAAS to the older G1000 models that don't have it. Does this mean that all of the currently affected aircraft were at one time eligible for upgrade but the owners chos...
