I put aeroled sunbeams on my DA40 last week. Huge difference. I posted pictures the other day on the DA40 forum.ememic99 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 11:30 pm Did anyone try Aeroleds?

Re: Aeroled sunbeam
I installed two - replaced both the taxi & landing lights. They looked like they would be very simple drop in replacements, but the shop said they were thicker than the old lights & they had to come up with something. Haven't talked to them yet to find out exactly what they did. I was expect...

Aeroled sunbeam
For those with older aircraft, finally got my AeroLED sunbeams installed - huge difference from the old halogen bulbs lights. A few pics: one while taxiing withe new lights, one while parked with new light & one while parked with old light. The new lights actually illuminate the runway before I ...

Re: DA40 Fuel Level tester
The fuel quantity measuring device is required equipment and the plane cannot be legally flown without it. See the attached from the AFM. So what is the definition of a "fuel quantity measuring device"? The AFM references a page that has the diagram of the fuel system and the fuel-level s...

Re: landing/taxi light trim piece
Thanks for the suggestions. I removed the lens cover & scraped off all the (apparently) paint, pretty tedious. I then used glider tape on the inside of the cover. The color match isnt perfect, but it sure looks a lot better!

landing/taxi light trim piece
Santa is bring me a couple of Aero LED lights to replace my old lamps/fixtures. I'd like to replace the cracked/discolored plastic (I assume) trim piece under the lamp cover at the same time. Has anyone else done this? Is it an expensive part? (Hopefully not - looks like just a bit of plastic). Pict...

Re: KAP-140 Terminal Interface
Thanks all. I did find the socket up under panel on the passenger side. A little hard to see as it's black. Twas indeed a u174/u. Was able to get to the RTI interface on the kap140 and dump the log. As is usually the case with rs232, had to swap pins 2 and 3.

Re: KAP-140 Terminal Interface
Someone in another post referenced a U-174/U connector. The diagram shows both a U-174/U and a more common 3-prong connector. One has 4 connections, the other 3. Any idea which is installed in the plane?
Thx.

KAP-140 Terminal Interface
I need to dump the diagnostic log from my KAP-140. Where is the connector that I plug into? Does it require removing the control unit?
Also, anyone have the wiring diagram for the connector?
Thank you.
