Re: Fuel Gauge / Totalizer Miscompare?

Thanks everyone for the input about the dead zone in the middle tank. I was aware of that however. This is a great example. Finished doing a 4.2 flight, 700 nm trip yesterday. Before I left I made sure the line personnel did their best to fill her up as best as they could. I still selected to depart...

Re: DA62 Annual Mechanic/Center preference

The nearest approved Diamond Service Center is a 12 minute flight from my home airport. But for various reasons I'm willing to fly three hours to FTW for any significant service on the 62. I too have made the change in MX providers; 7-8 hrs block time round trip for the peace of mind for Premier @ ...

Re: Potential New DA62 Owner

It’s so crazy how the world has turned upside down for aircraft acquisition prices. My pre-owned 62 that I acquired in July 2021 has increased about 170% in value.

Fuel Gauge / Totalizer Miscompare?

Out of curiosity, I’m seeing what others primarily use for accuracy for fuel remaining; fuel gauges or the totalizer? My prior gig was a Cirrus so I was used to using the totalizer for fuel burn / remaining as those fuel gauges were very inaccurate. I have the Legacy G1000 avionics. I have noticed t...

Re: DA62 Tow-bar

For me I realized right away that pushing a 3,500 lb aircraft up over the typical hangar track grooves that stick up and only having 1 ft clearance on each side I decided to go with https://redlineaviation.com/

For me the Sidewinder works great and has precise control for those tight hangar spaces.

I set the “failed engine” to 20-25% zero thrust. I got that number from The Concise Guide to the Diamond DA62 ebook.

Re: DA62 Mx Intervals

Each gearbox was $10,575 USD
New battery $1,023
LH turbo leaking at mating haves: $5,103 for new turbocharger assembly

Etc.

She was a hangar queen only flying roughly 50 hours for per heat for 4.5 years.

I flew her 130 hrs in 10 months.

Re: DA62 Mx Intervals

She made it back home yesterday after a very thorough annual. 4.0 Block back to BFF and no squawks. David Seastead at Premier (FTW) did a fantastic job. Did you have to replace gearboxes? Yes I did. Both of them. To be honest, I was surprised on how quickly Premier was able to get them from Diamond...
