Re: Comm 1 Failure

Will it work from either seat? If only one seat won't transmit, it could be the PTT switch.

Re: Bad transmit on pilot side, but co side okay?

P/N 1831.1202. Removal, per the AMM is just to pry it loose...you can see the little tabs on the end that hold it in. I found success with a smaller flat head screwdriver and was able to get it loose without marking the grip. An internet search for "Switch 1831.1202" will find multiple ven...

Re: Starting Trouble...anyone seen this before?

I'm rocking dual Garmin 430s...both were powered up. That would make sense since they both could be essential, and both could be turned off on the unit. I'm going to dig a little deeper into the books to see what I can learn, but I'll say there was nothing in the plane that was obviously not powered...

Re: Starting Trouble...anyone seen this before?

I found out what was wrong... In life I judge things by their "tragedy to comedy lapse rate"...with enough time everything becomes funny. For instance, if you blow a tire on the runway. Bad at the time; pretty funny about a week later. This is already becoming funny. A while back I set my ...

Re: Starting Trouble...anyone seen this before?

In which conduction connector did you find your problem? Mines the same year as yours.

Re: Starting Trouble...anyone seen this before?

Rich, can you elaborate on the conductor connection? Is that science speak for "wire"?!

Re: Starting Trouble...anyone seen this before?

My guess, too. I don't know enough about the SlickStart...I was afraid there might be some issue with it that could cause the problem.

Re: Bad transmit on pilot side, but co side okay?

To close out this thread... I pulled the PTT and found the part number on the side. I ordered an identical one online for $1.50...$5.26 with express shipping. 10 minutes to pull the switch and solder the new one on. Huge win. Just a little oxidation on a contact can do crazy things, I guess! -Steve

Re: Exhaust and Intake Risers Touching?

To close out this thread... ...it appears that during an exhaust repair the shop allowed themselves to shorten up the riser to my #1 cylinder, slightly changing the angle in an area where things were already pretty tight. Of note, no mechanics could find any guidance on the minimum spacing between e...

Starting Trouble...anyone seen this before?

I'm having a little trouble with starts on my '02. The engine turns over fine, but won't catch until after I release the key...kind of like I'm using the starter to hand-prop it. My plane normally starts like a dream even when hot so I can work around it. Mag drops are perfect on the left and right ...
