Re: Any shop recommendations in SoCal? Looking to replace TC and add GPSS
The TC is a separate deal but installing an Aspen or dual G5s (and the appropriate extras) will get you GPSS. Somebody here once did install the simple DAC GDC31 GPSS converter several years back. Given the newer options many shops may not be familiar with it, but it doesn't look involved other tha...

Re: GPSS with 530w and KAP140?
does anybody have a source on the GDC31 being approved for use in the DA40 with 6-pack avionics and KAP140? Look up STC SA10236SC Several of us have moved on. Aspen handles this, as does the G5, given one has the appropriate GPS navigator. what do you mean by have "moved on"? as in you ha...

Re: Nose gear recurring AD
...and during AI last month, a slight crack was detected in my 2002 DA40. Part (about $4500) immediately put on order, 3 to 5 weeks delivery quoted. But by some miracle it actually arrived 10 days after the order was placed. interesting thanks for the data point do you service yours at Gibbs by cha...

Re: Nose gear recurring AD
Apparently our original 2007 nose gear leg just failed the inspection. Don't yet have an estimate on cost nor downtime. Hoping it'll be better than 4 to 6 weeks but I'm expecting many thousands of dollars. So frustrating, since we just got the plane back after six months of downtime due to overhaul...

Re: Any shop recommendations in SoCal? Looking to replace TC and add GPSS
reviving my own dead thread here. our 172S has a GDC31 which we may be removing in favor of GI275s which include the GPSS unit. thinking to put into our DA40 if able. 6-pack avionics with the KAP140
does anybody know for sure that it is approved for use in the DA40?

WTB L3 Attitude Indicator from 6pack 1100-28LK(0F)
Looking for a L3 1100-28LK(0F) attitude indicator. Ours died and we want to replace with a GI-275 but the lead time is nuts

Re: Oil leak MT Prop
Thanks Matt and Russ. With the pictures I shared earlier in this thread, MT says it is not an emergency fix. They say the prop should still have plenty of grease left. But I'm 64 months into a 72-month TBO so I will go ahead and bite the bullet. I'm a 10-minute flight from Sensinech Gainesville, bu...

Re: DA40 Climb Rate
Has anyone noticed that the climb rate with takeoff flaps is greater than the climb rate with cruise flaps? Just looking at the climb performance charts, with the examples shown, you can see a 110 ft/min better climb rate with takeoff flaps over climb with cruise flaps. Can anyone offer a technical...

Re: Oil from the MT propeller
Simply one additional data point: I got 1800 hours without any issues on my 3-blade MT proper before I sent it out for inspection/overhaul. Wayne I believe the XLS has a different propeller than the one the OP has (and we had). Earlier DA40 used MTV-12-B/180-17F prop which had a 2400rpm continuous ...
