Re: European MTOW vs. Canadiam MTOW
You can "retrofit" the higher MTOW, at any time, by paying Diamond Austria a small fee for issuing a new certificate.

DA62 down in France
Does anyone have more information on the DA62 call sign D-IRAY that went down in France yesterday? Pilot and passenger safe. Airplane totaled. https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/345793 https://www.estrepublicain.fr/faits-divers-justice/2023/09/21/un-avion-de-tourisme-allemand-qui-venait-de-decolle...

Re: DA62 road landing in Dallas, Texas
I got a response today from Diamond support in Austria saying that they are waiting for the NTSB report in order to learn more about this incident. I tried to extract additional information but without success. The only comment that the support person made is that he is also curious to learn how thi...

Re: DA62 road landing in Dallas, Texas
I do not know how you could design something that would survive that sort of maintenance failure. I am very aware that my mechanic could kill me (and my passengers) anytime he felt like it. I agree that a technician can kill us. But... I will be happy to get some visual indication of such an electr...

Re: DA62 road landing in Dallas, Texas
In the spirit of open communications between Diamond and the owners, can we ask Diamond or its distributors to comment on this incident? After all, losing an engine or two to an electrical problem is not different or even worst than losing it to a blown piston. Diamond is already being criticized in...

Re: KAP-140 R & P fail + manual electric trim fail
After re-programming it is working now. We still need to sort out a couple of configurations but I think that in our case it is not a failed T /C. But will keep it in mind in case the problem comes up again. Thanks.

Re: KAP-140 R & P fail + manual electric trim fail
As Rich mentioned, a special configuration file from Diamond was required, requested and provided same day. It was installed by a Bendixking qualified technician and the self test passed. Some additional configuration (not Diamond specific) was required and the KAP-140 is working again. We are still...

Re: KAP-140 R & P fail + manual electric trim fail
A technician connected to the KAP-140 and the message, as seen in the attached picture, appeared.
He believes that the data in the Configuration Module was erased and has to be re-loaded.
Does anyone have access to this data file, by any chance?
Or do you think it may be something else?
