Re: Recently ordered a DA40NG !

Hi,
I am in the market to buy one. I reached out to some one who represent buyers in Arizona. He has mentioned Fall of 2023 expected delivery time. I wonder if there is a way to expedite that if a buyer buy it directly from Canada?

Re: Electric trim not working correctly

An update from my end is as follows: Initially my trim switch on the stick were not responsive and I was expecting an electrical fault. Rich was kind enough to point me to the electrical wiring diagram. While I was planning to explore that, one day I was on my run-up while testing the autopilot with...

Re: KAP140 Autopilot Pitch Fault

Thanks Rich, I will test the "trim wheel in stuck state, try pushing the stick all the way forward when trying to move the trim wheel." Here is the image of the mechanism from IPC. Just wanted to confirm if the "gear segment" is referring to the chain-sprocket piece of hardware....

Re: KAP140 Autopilot Pitch Fault

One question with regards to the functioning of KAP140. As I understand there are all together 3 servos i.e. Roll servo, Pitch servo and Pitch Trim servo. When we are doing autopilot test on the ground, for Roll servo (since it is only one) it is clear that the heading bug will help move this one an...

Re: KAP140 Autopilot Pitch Fault

Thanks Rich, Later in the afternoon, I gathered some more facts. When I parked the plane I visually inspected the trim tab and elevator. While doing so I inadvertently moved the elevator with the trim tab (just like we do in pre-flight). When I returned back in the afternoon, I noticed that I was ab...

Re: KAP140 Autopilot Pitch Fault

Hi, This morning, I was doing the ramp checks and while doing the usual autopilot checks with VS plus and minus to see if the stick is properly moving, I noticed that the trim wheel started moving. The trim wheel was all the way back. After disconnecting form A/P, I tried to bring the trim wheel bac...

Re: Engine Top Cowling Fasteners

I also did a comparison of what is provided in the manual for the side fasteners (on the top cowling) and these two unknowns on the top: For side fasteners - already provided info : Cambolt = 40S5-7D, Collar = 4002-N-3 For the unknown fastener on the top : Cambolt = part not known but with inscripti...

Re: Engine Top Cowling Fasteners

Thanks Adam and Steve, I looked at figure 1, on Page 2 of Section 71-02-00 of Doc# 6.02.01 Rev. 7 (pdf page 1890) and could not see those two that I have. In order to make it clear, I am attaching couple of files to explain. DA40_top_cowl_holes.png The red dots appearing on top are the approximate l...

Engine Top Cowling Fasteners

The other day I lost one of the two fasteners for my engine top cowling (on the top side). I own a DA40 with serial no. 647 and so I wanted to check part number to order. I went online to ipc.diamond-air and typed my aircraft s/no. That took me to the page of DA40-180. Then I made my way to section ...
