I wish I could have a pair of those on the DA62. 30% more power would be very welcome!

Re: Lack of speed indications

The pitot heat can switch to low current with weight on wheels. Maybe that's happening in the air? I'd get it checked.

No damn springs on the SF50. It flies very similar to a Diamond. It even has a trim wheel.

My DA62 is back as well, with new bolts. It flies the same it’s ever flown.

Re: DA50 vs The World

I think it's pretty common for people to freeze when they witness something like that. The sudden realization that someone just died right in front of you isn't easy to process.

Re: DA50 vs The World

I agree. It's very finicky to land, as compared to my DA62 now, which I can just fly it on the runway and it's happy.

Re: DA50 vs The World

The Cirrus requires proper airmanship. If you are sloppy with rudder and pitch in a go-around from behind the power curve, you will flip it. 300+hp is a lot of power when you are very slow.

Re: DA50 vs The World

COPA is so great that many former Cirrus owners, like me, stay very active there for years. It's a family.

I hope DPA reaches that level of greatness one day too.

Re: Left Fuel Gauge Failure (Red X) / Inboard Sensor Fail

I had the same problem on my DA62. There was an accumulation of TKS in the wing root and that corroded the fuel sensor electronics. The wing had to be removed and it sure is a lot of work. You may be lucky if it’s just a wiring issue. And you are AOG already. It’s not legal to fly without a fuel sen...

Re: TKS Panel Replacement

Sorry to hear. FIKI is nice, but this TKS system is a f* PITA.

Whoever does it, make sure they do the first flight, maybe even including a stall series.
