Climb rate
Last week we flew from Mönchengladbach (EDLN - Germany) to Bastia in Corsica (LFKB - France). Privately-owned small aircraft (e.g., single engine Pipers, Cessnas and similar) can typically climb, if not heavily loaded and at not a higher altitude, at at least 300 to 400 feet per minute. Better perfo...

Re: WTB: DA-62 Rear Cargo Shell
We have a 7-seat Diamond DA62. We are very satisfied with the plane. However, we never use the 3rd row. So on our trip from Europe to Oshkosh last year, we took out the 3rd row to have extra luggage space. That took some figuring out in the beginning, but afterwards it wasn't too bad. Then we cut a ...

Re: Newbie Question 1 - Flaps UP takeoff
I use the app ron my iPad, Gyronimo . You can configure exactly the DA62. 5 or 7 seats, how many passengers, what position in the plane, how much luggage, where in the plane, how much fuel, temperature, altitude airport, wind direction etc. The outcome: takeoff distance and 50', climb rate, 50'dista...

Re: Austro Engine MSB
I've been a pilot since 1996. I've owned an airplane since 1997, first a Socata TB9, then a Bonanza A36 thereafter a Diamond DA42 and now a Diamond DA62. I have performed several AD's more often and of course it did cost me a lot's of money. What I don't understand is: If a manufacturer produces rub...

Re: Start switch
Hi all,
The three cable are scolded at the switch. Really unprofessional. In my opinion there should be an AD in which Diamond will replace the switch in different more solid stable switches.

Re: Start switch
Thank you for your comments.
I’m not happy with the switch. A key switch like in the DA42, is a better idea. Why did Diamond change this item?
Nevertheless I’m very happy with the airplane and it’s performance.

At BGBW Narsarsuaq Greenland. Last week we had a problem with our DA62. We were on BGBW Narsarsuaq in Greenland. We wanted to start the right engine, but nothing happened when I pressed the start button. Then started the left engine. The starter motor did not come to life. Then we connected to...
