Re: DA40 NG Market Today

There's a 2008 DA40 XLS at Steel being offered for over 400k. I'm rather shocked at that price, frankly. I find it hard to believe my plane (also a 2008 xls) has gone up in value THAT much. Super curious if it's getting any hits _at all_.

I replaced it with a brand new SR22T and couldn’t be ...

Re: GTX345R

One of the primary jobs of ATC is to keep aircraft on an IFR plan from colliding with other aircraft. It doesn't matter if the other aircraft is on an IFR plan, flight following, or just flying around VFR in VMC in Class E.

And yet they still provide IFR services in location with no radar or even ...

Re: GTX345R

They are always responsible for separation of aircraft on an IFR plan
They are not responsible for separation from VFR aircraft, which is why I said IMC - because then you know everyone is on an IFR flight plane, and thus you are getting separation.

Re: GTX345R

If you're flying IFR, ATC should be providing separation.

Re: Canopy Latch gas strut

I everyone! I did manage to get this done at my annual and the person who did the work was kind enough to write up how he did it in an effort to make what sounds like a horrible process a little less horrible.

The numbers in parens reference parts on the diagram attached. This work was done by ...

Re: Important hangar features

can't have too many outlets,either.
For locality, or do you also need the breakers to support a bunch of load?

Re: Back door departing the airplane

Reviewing it, I believe even with a fresh gas spring i fail some of those points. Looks like I need some lubrication in some key places, or "if it can't be determined, contact DAI" which sounds like a good time.

Re: Cirrus disapproves vinyl wrapping and ceramic coatings

Is that static because of a ceramic coating he has? Or is that just something that happens in hard imc that I don't get the joy of experiencing in my "Gentleman's IFR" da40?

Re: Cirrus disapproves vinyl wrapping and ceramic coatings

One of the Galvin planes got wrapped. It looked awesome (advertisement for the owner's company), but sat for months while the owner tried to get it signed off as airworthy, which it never did and it went back to pure white. It was a little weird seeing a diamond without any stripes! I have a picture ...

Dang you raise flaps early! You're wheels have barely left the ground.
