Re: Da40 NG low coolant warning

This is my story: A few months ago, the maintenance guys found out that the coolant pump on my one year old plane was leaking, but at that time the coolant level warning was not yet showing. The pump was replaced and coolant was topped up. After about one hour of flying the coolant warning started t...

Re: Unable to enable Pilot 3D Audio

Thanks for the tips and warnings!
I will get into the configuration mode and only change the 3d settings.

Unable to enable Pilot 3D Audio

Today I tried to switch on the 3D audio setting on the G1000 NXi. First I made sure that the switch inside my Bose A20 controller was switched to Stereo. In the Aux / Setup 2 page I selected Pilot 3D Audio, but wasn't able to switch it ON. It showed 'On' very briefly, perhaps for a quarter of a seco...

Re: How much fuel do you typically keep in the tanks?

Does anybody have any experiences with this defueling procedure, or does anybody know of better ways to do this? With the Lycoming, one drains it out the gascolator, as the drain can be locked in place. Just select the tank and drain through there. I'm unsure whether this will work for the NG. Just...

Re: How much fuel do you typically keep in the tanks?

I share my DA40NG with two other pilots and we always refuel after our flights, so that the tanks are always full. Only if somebody would exceed the envelope limit, we would ask the previous pilot not to fill up the tanks. Usually this works out fine. Now for my next scheduled trip, this doesn't wor...

Re: G1000 question

So in other words, the more you pay for the equipment, the more Garmin asks for unlocking the SVT software.

Thanks for the info!

Re: G1000 question

SVT looks like a valuable option to have.
At the time I bought my DA40NG, I didn't choose for this option.
Has anyone on this forum recently enabled SVT on the G1000 NXi of a DA40NG?
The price would obviously be the main concern.
I can't find much info on this online.
Thank you!

Re: G1000 and VFR flying in Europe

Hi George,

Thanks for your message!

I will look into the G1000 database options from Garmin and/or Jeppesen and try to figure out what additional databases I need.
And I will keep SkyDemon within reach!

Re: G1000 and VFR flying in Europe

Hi Dave, thanks, I already use SkyDemon and you are very right that it is perfect for VFR flying! But why use an iPad if you already have a G1000 ;) I would like to keep my iPad with SkyDemon in reach as back-up, but it would be great if the VFR traffic patterns are also displayed on the MFD. I thin...

G1000 and VFR flying in Europe

In a few months time, I expect to fly my brandnew DA40NG from the factory in Austria to the Netherlands. I am only flying VFR and I was wondering if anybody has experience with flying VFR in Europe (probably the same in US and Canada...) with the G1000 NXi. Should I purchase and install extra databa...
