Where to mount a "portable" CO detector?

We are planning on purchasing a CO Experts CO detector.

Any experience and/or recommendations on the best location for installation in a DA40?

Thanks,
Marc

Re: Preferred Power Settings

Most interesting. Most of my flying is at 8,000' to 14,000' (field elevation is 4,000' and we live next the Rocky mountains). Most IFR flying is at 2,400. I'll try 2,500 on my next outing.

Re: operational cost for a da40

Back to the DA40 - no annual registration costs at all. Even our Transport Canada paperwork is free and no landing fees. But avgas is $1.83 (Cdn) / litre at CYBW ( quite a bit less at smaller airports that don't charge large rent to FBOs).

Re: operational cost for a da40

I don't know about Belgium, but to keep my cars going in Calgary in Canada: 2006 Audi A4 Avant Quattro manual (250,000 K) and 1999 Miata (90,000k) about $2,000 in insurance plus maintenance -- $3,000 for the Audi and $200 for the Miata :-) But it's a very nice Audi and the Miata is so much fun! And ...

Re: operational cost for a da40

Our DA40 costs are in line with other comparable options at CYBW (Springbank, Calgary). Depending on how much block time you sign up for, a 182T with a G1000 and a SR20 run between $225 and $250.

Re: operational cost for a da40

I'm astonished at the owner done annual at $500. Just the bi-annual IFR pitot-static tests cost over $1,000. Thus year, in addition to that with the wing bonding test and various misc repairs (brakes, exhaust, compass swing, AM safe inspection, oil), we were over $5,000 (Cdn). In our 4 person shared...

Re: ForeFlight 6.6 - Synthetic Vision

Chris,
Looks like a workable solution. I'll discuss it with my plane partners.
Many thanks and Happy new Year.

ForeFlight 6.6 - Synthetic Vision

The new Foreflight with synthetic vision came out today. Quite impressive - no - BLOODY IMPRESSIVE!! But, to use it you need to mount the iPad in landscape mode and exactly parallel to the G1000 displays. That would of course block the screens. But if the screens went dead in IMC (god forbid) it wou...

Re: G1000 KAP 140 NAV to APR transition question

As mentioned, here is an email from a BK tech: Usually the “autopilot not following the approach” with people flying LNAV approaches is a result of the autopilot being flown in NAV mode on the part of the approach when the transition from terminal to approach (in the GPS) occurs, and there is a mome...
