Re: Propellor Needed desperately.

Have you tried Aviation Propellers in Opa Locka, FL? They overhauled my A1 prop years ago and had an overhauled prop for sale at that time. If you are willing to overhaul a prop, I know of a serviceable spare. We gave it to the high school when we donated our DA20 to them a year or so ago. The prop ...

Re: 29 DA20s, 7 DA42s, 5 DA 40s tragically for sale

As expected from when they closed early in March. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7224

I would inspect these airplanes very closely before buying. Falcon ran them hard and in my opinion, their maintenance was marginal.

Re: Fire extinguishers

I was looking at my fire extinguisher recently and discovered it's a dry powder type, whereas the FAA recommends halon or halotron. In fact in AC20-42D the FAA specifically recommends against using dry powder extinguishers in aircraft. Does anybody know why Diamond would provide an extinguisher whi...

Re: Flood of Used Diamonds?

All three were campuses of Falcon Aviation Academy - KCCO, KFFC, KAHN. No idea if this is permanent or not and there is conflicting information going around. The Corona virus has had an impact. Falcon Aviation had bought a nearby motel that they converted to student dorms. Apparently they never got ...

Flood of Used Diamonds?

One of the largest flight schools (maybe the largest) in the Atlanta area with three campuses abruptly shut down last week. They operated a fleet of DA20's, 40's and 42's. I suspect many were on leaseback but there may now be a substantial number of Diamond aircraft on the market. It's possible that...

Censoring of Posts

To the moderator that deleted my post critical of DAI - Thank you. Go ahead and delete my account too. Yes, I have been critical of DAI and the promises made and promises broken. So have many others. The lack of support by DAI is why I sold my DA40 share and donated my DA20 to a high school in Flori...

Re: You Know You're a Diamond Pilot When ...

Your DA20-A1 gets orphaned.
Your steam gauge DA40-180 gets orphaned.
Your G1000 DA40-180 avionics get orphaned.
Your "fill in the blank" Diamond gets orphaned.

Loved my Diamonds but I'm so glad to be in the experimental world now.

Flame suit on.

Re: DA40

Let's hope it's a DA40 NG airframe with a Lycoming IO-390.

Re: Removing G1000 from a Da40?

Antoine, Neither the Dynon or G3X are certified for the DA-40 . I did not think the G5 was on the list for primary instruments; therefore you are pursuing an STC, If you are chasing the STC, you may as well start with the most complete and lowest cost solution you can, also both the Dynon and the G...

Re: 200lb Useful Load Increase?

Interesting. During my conversation years ago with Christian Dries at the Katana Kafe in Austria, I had asked about a useful load increase (and changing to an IO-390, as Cirrus did with the SR-20). Aside from his contention that the Avgas market was dead to him, he indicated that even with an IO-390...
