DAN World tab/map non-functional
The World tab, which shows a map of where all the members are based used to work, but is no longer functional for me. Just me, or no longer supported?

Re: Where are all the DA40 XLTs?
With all the AD issues with the Astro powerplants, you would think the Diamond upper management would now be promoting the XLT with the bullet proof Lycoming engine. That said, it appears they are still in production by special order as a 2025 XLT is on the Premiere Aircraft inventory list. Not ...

Where are all the DA40 XLTs?
While I always see a multitude of new XLTs for sale on Controller, etc., from a variety of dealers, I have never, ever, seen a used XLT from the past 10 years shown for sale anywhere, nor have I ever seen one on a ramp anywhere at an airport. There are a spattering of the first 2012/2013 XLTs that ...

Mixture spring
On the left left side of the fuel servo, right behind the alternate air, the mixture control cable connects to the fuel servo. There is a spring that connects from the lever arm to a fixed point, presumably to serve as a failsafe to move the mixture to full rich if something breaks. The IPC shows ...

Re: What should air traffic control call a DA 40?
The Katana was one of the DA20 evolutions. ATC usually refers to all the 20s around here as Katana, the 40s as Diamondstar, and 42s or 62s as Twinstar.

Re: Shortest trip time by climb speed / rate of climb
Dan and Chris- this is the discussion I was looking for! Unfortunately Chris, there is no chart for climb speed vs climb rate in the POH. Only climb rate vs temp, weight, etc. I am also confused by Dan's example 2 with faster climb speed and faster climb rate, that would assume example 1 was at half ...

Re: Shortest trip time by climb speed / rate of climb
Yes, Vy gets you to the top in the shortest time, but does that equate to shortest total trip time, all other factors not considered??? It may, I'd like to know if that's the case. Save for high ambient temps, I'm happy to climb all the way to the top at Vy if it really means the shortest total trip ...

Re: Interesting find
I've had some tires with a similar weight patch. Scary that it came off... I'd share that with Goodyear.

Re: Shortest trip time by climb speed / rate of climb
just looking for the gist of how to get from A to B the fastest. Obviously if there is a 20 kt headwind low, and a 20 kt tailwind high, climbing to top at Vy would be ideal. If it's 110 F out, climbing at Vy is not feasible. But everything in the middle, it would be nice to know which side of climb ...
