Re: Tire Damage
towed maybe with the brakes on, but you'd expect the same on the other tire, or maybe parked in some corrosive liquid for a bit?

Re: Which tape for wing gaps ?
Meantime we went the glider tape route Wings and Wheels Premium gap tape. We will see how that works. Eager to get a review onf the W&W tape. I have always used the Bowlus, but shipping and payment at Cumulus is a pain. My biggest thing is how hard it is to remove a year or more later... The 3M...

Re: updating Nav database before expiration
Slightly different (prior database not retained in any way) for the GNS units. I update the spare cards and keep them in my flight bag until it's the right time. Re: Oil filter
personally, not a fan of the Tempest filter. Despite the non-stick coating on the seal, when torqued to spec it's still more challenging to remove than the Champion with a tiny amount of DC4, and the can is significantly lighter weight material.

Re: Whirlwind tour: Vegas, Grand Canyon, Zion, Tahoe
Dan, a few helpful comments: 1. For the updrafts/downdrafts or bad turbulence in general, it's by far easiest to fly in PITCH mode, riding the waves up and down (won't work in IFR unless they'll give you a block altitude, which commonly will). Your airspeed will stay constant, as will pitch, which i...

Re: Mandatory 10 year AmSafe bottle replacement
John, curious to know about what the parts cost back then, and what you did with the old parts / inflators?
