Re: MPD Fan
My PFD fan fail warning has been coming on in my G1000 DA 40 for some time now... The fan still works, as I have verified this by opening the PFD (by unlatching the front fasteners) and looking at the fan turning while the fan fail message was being displayed. We have reseated the connector, to no a...

Re: Cylinder Head Temps
I'm a relatively new pilot and DA40 owner and this is my first post to this forum. I've noticed recently that my #1 cyliner head temp is difficult to keep below 390 at low altitudes. I have to richen the mixture to 11 or 12 gph to bring the temp below 380. The other 3 cylinder head temps are all 37...

Re: AMP problems
Have not seen that problem in almost 6 years and about 700hrs of flying my DA 40. My ammeter always reads a +indication, usually +10 with the strobes on and normal load for G1000. If you are not seeing the red ALTERNATOR fail indication, I would believe the Alternator is functioning. I would guess t...

Re: New airplane prices
We did the 2646 MTOW increase modification at KDTO about 5 years ago. I believe that 2646 is the current Max weight limit. This modification is little more then a placard and a shorter elevator stop. I seem to recall about a $750 price for this mod, and well worth it for the extra 111lbs of useful l...

Re: Unable to update G1000 Nav data
No, I didn't know about the quick format issue...
We should post a Wiki update on how to create these Nav Data, and Obstacle data cards, etc

Re: Unable to update G1000 Nav data
I have the Transcend card, so I will try to locate a SanDisk before I try this again...
When I plug the card into the PFD, the unit just boots normally and does not recognize the card. I have not yet tried the MFD boot up.

Unable to update G1000 Nav data
I am attempting to use a new freshly FAT formated 2GB SD to update my G1000 nav data... Jeppesen
will write the nav database to the card just fine; however my G1000 will not recognize this update. Any ideas on how to fix would be greatly appreciated!

KAP 140 GPS tracking failure
My 2004 G1000 DA40 has developed a strange problem with the KAP 140; it will not hold NAV mode when the source is the GPS receiver. I have verified this both on a course direct to an airport and on a GPS approach. The NAV light or the APR light starts flashing after holding the course for some perio...
