Re: My experience with the ElectroAir ignition upgrade
I haven't done this and don't intend to... however I believe that the regulations require a 60 minute reserve power source if using a battery, or a standby alternator that may not use more than 80% it's rated load capacity. Everything will need to be certified so I expect it be a pricey option. Elec...

Re: Fuel sender PN for non-VM1000 DA40?
We did contact him when the backlight was failing a couple years ago... based on parts availability at the time we had JPI replace the backlight. Now the LCD itself is failing and JPI does not have any for repairs... I am hesitant to continue trying to support this platform even if we could put it o...

Fuel sender PN for non-VM1000 DA40?
Our VM1000 is finally dying (screen failing on left side). I am hopeful we will be able to replace it a Garmin GI275 engine monitor however Garmin doesn't support the VM1000 fuel level senders. Does anyone have the correct part # for the later DA40 resistance senders? https://i.imgur.com/jRV6nTz.jpg...

Weldon pump still going strong (several "Duke pump intervals" later).
I have the rebuilt Duke sitting in a box - don't think I will ever use it.

Re: How much trouble is it to get a commercial rating?
I got my commercial multi first... so now I get to go back and do the commercial single add on in the DA40.
It's not a difficult rating to get - I say go for it.

Re: KAP 140 STC'd replacement
Potentially interested.
Would like to learn more - obviously price is a big determining factor. Will it integrate the altitude preselect into Aspen?
I would love IAS hold...

Re: KAP140 initiates left turn when first engaged
We have had this exact issue! Problem was the "Blind" turn coordinator (not the one on the panel for our steam gauge airplane).
I wish we could ditch the blind turn coordinator and take the output from the Aspen AHRS but apparently that is not covered under the Aspen STC.
