Oil Temp Indicator X-out
Troubleshooting an Oil Temp Indicator X-out on the G1000 in my '40. It X-ed out, MX checked for loose connections, none found. Worked normally on the next flight, then X-ed out on a subsequent flight. We replaced the oil sensor, flew one flight without issue, and then the second flight this weekend ...

Hobbs v. Flight Time Variance (G1000)
I'm curious what variances you see on your G1000 '40s between the Hobbs and the flight time reported on the G1000. I have 1,111.6 on the G1000 and 1444.6 on the Hobbs.

Re: Engine Issue Fixed - #1 Cylinder Not Firing
Thanks for posting. By "fuel hose" do you mean the hard lines from the spider at the top of the engine to each injector? I didn't realize that these could clog, unless the fuel filter is defective. His comment was 'the hose from the fuel manifold to the cylinder'. Assume he mean...

Engine Issue Fixed - #1 Cylinder Not Firing
Pulled the plane out of the hangar weekend before last to stretch its legs after a month in the hangar (an an unusually wet one for Houston this time of year). At run up, I pushed the plane towards 2,000 and the #1 cylinder CHT dropped to about 150, the #1 EGT bar dropped off the screen, and the pla...

Good to know (and makes sense). Thanks!Joey wrote: The window will stay shut even without the latch due to the pressure differential of the cockpit v outside airstream. Its a tad noisy on the takeoff however....

Canopy window vent latch broke
Success story: after my last annual, Stuart Dillon gave me a sack of replacement window latches for the small window vents in the canopy. On my way home from Osh, I went to shut the window at run up and the plastic tab on the latch broke. Taxied in and fortunately had that sack of replacement latche...

Re: DA40 available in central texas?
I'm in Houston (and ForeFlight also has an office in Austin and I'm there with some regularity). Happy to answer questions. I'm coming up on my two year ownership anniversary, and although I love the '40, the wife wants air conditioning so I may be exiting from mine this year (and we need longer, fa...
