I have 500 hours in my (ex) C1. Turning final at 65 kts, reducing to 60 kts on final and then 55 kts on short final worked fine for me. If there was a gusty wind I added about 1/2 of the gust factor. Teaching you to land hot rather than using book or close to book numbers is doing you a disservice. ...

You are tall for a DA20 but there are foam pieces in the seats that can be rearranged or otherwise minimized. That will possibly give you barely enough headroom. Will your legs fit? Maybe. Your knees may hit the underside of the instrument panel. You will only know if you find one to rent and fly.

I believe there are two different things being referenced here, static rpm and flight rpm. I am surprised that the original prop would get to redline on take off. "Static rpm" is what you measure when the plane is on the ground at full throttle, with no wind and with the brakes set. This i...

How fast is the C-1 with the mt prop? Power setting, alt, gph? I've been training in one and it likes to go along at 110knts at 1900rpm and 120knts at 2000rpm. 2200 rpm is around max throttle with the MT prop compared to ~2600 rpm with the sensenich propeller.
