Re: Has anyone already placed an order for a Panthera?

I'm too have been watching their progress with great interest. It is indeed a beauty.

After viewing the several pictures and videos that are available, I wonder about pilot forward visibility. Will the center canopy support create a "blind spot"? Sure hope not!

Re: DA 20 Down in Linden NJ

Sad...It is being reported that the plane never got much higher than the low level buildings in the area and crashed nose first on to the railroad tracks.

Re: Pipistrel Panthera

PFD/MFD set in the Panthera shown in Friedrichshaffen are Dynon Skyview . NAV/COM/GPS Garmin 750/650 . True. But, listen to the video. The Dynon Skyview is being used for now because it cuts down on development costs. But, they clearly stated the production model will have pilot/co-pilot Garmin G50...

Re: Pipistrel Panthera

If you haven't already seen this video and you have been following the development of the Panthera, I suggest you watch it. It is extremely impressive... http://www.avweb.com/avwebflash/exclusivevids/ExclusiveVideo_AeroFriedrichshafen2013_PipistrelPanthera_208596-1.html I've watched the companion P...

Re: Diamond XLT to be launched at Sun 'n Fun 2013

Unfortunately we are not helping ourselves ... It's ok to be a squeaky wheel but it's tough to offer a solution when lack of agreement on what the solution would be and how much is a fair price for it. I agree! Perhaps we need to start a new threat to brainstorm possible solutions. As they say, not...

Re: Diamond XLT to be launched at Sun 'n Fun 2013

My information from Garmin (Senor VP of marketing and Sales Europe & ME) is that Garmin holds the STC to the G1000 for the DA40. They have upgraded the G1000 software. The problem is, that Diamond does not release it. There would be no cost or little cost to DAI. DAI Product Support says, it is...

Re: effect of overloading

Let's keep this simple...Stall :( CG  and DA  issues. You might want to take a look at the video found elsewhere in this forum regarding Density Altitude. You can overload the plane while keeping it within the allowed CG range. yes, you will get an increased stall speed, but this can be ...

Re: effect of overloading

this is a purely theoretical / educational question: what are the effects of overloading an airplane - taking off heavier than MTOM and landing heavier than MLM? what should one expect, other than the obvious effect of decreased climb performance & speed & increased load on the landing gear...

Re: Garmin G2000

The Garmin G2000 comes in 2-screen sizes -- 12" and 14". If the 14" screen is too large for the current DA-40 panel, perhaps the 12" screen would work.
