Re: Oil Pressure Sender

According to the IPC for the C1, the gauge and sender are from: Forster Instruments Ltd. 7141 Edwards Blvd. Mississauga, Ontario Canada L5S 1Z2 Tel: 905-795-0555 FAX: 905-795-0570 They are a VDO distributor, so I suspect that the pressure sensor is a standard VDO sender. If it were me, I would get t...

Re: Landing Flaps on Base or Final?

Or in a jet on final approach, you have an obstructed runway or need to go around. Throttle forward and climb. You do NOT touch flaps, or anything, usually until 500ft AGL or 1000ft AGL. Interesting comment. On the 737 I fly (for over 20 years now) go-arounds always call for a flap retraction. For ...

Re: Garbage in - Garbage out

In the US Experimental-Amateur Built world, the "Manufacturer" is the person who built it. So even though you built a Van RV whatever, the builder is listed as the manufacturer, not Vans. Precisely. My RV-7A is registered as an "Ellis RV-7A". I will forever be the manufacturer of record. It's why t...

Re: DA92 prototype to be presented at Aero Friedrichshafen

Me thinks Antoine is enjoying April 1st.

If not, another cruel joke on Diamond owners diverting much needed resources away from product line improvements...

Re: winch or powered tow bar?

My mechanic tells me the airplane is significantly harder than other DA20s to move, so he is replacing the ball bearings and the grease in the wheels. Hopefully that will help. I would also check the alignment of the gear. If the toe in is out of spec, it is fairly easy to adjust with the tapered s...

Re: Silly moment in DA40

Left the towbar attached one time on our Katana. Since the Rotax is so quiet, we heard the towbar bouncing on the concrete and stopped immediately. I have since made it a rule that the towbar never leaves my hands unless it is hanging on the hook on the wall or is in the baggage compartment of the p...

Re: DA40NG

What you really mean is that the Power Flow exhaust results in less of a reduction, but it does not increase the engine's horsepower. This is just semantics isn't it? The end result is the same; more power available to produce thrust. Do we agree Lycoming is baselining the IO-360-M1A at 180 hp when...

Re: DA40NG

And I wonder why nobody is commenting upon the outrageous, almost criminal design mistake in the DA40-NG (engine master switch) I already brought up the issue of the originally-flawed NG switch design, and how it has been effectively fixed. All DA40 NGs are now delivered with a very effective switc...

Re: COM reception problems

I'm sure you have already tried this, but sometimes it the headset plugs that are the issue. Take a fine scotchbrite pad to the plugs, then some contact cleaner and see if that helps. Certainly has helped me on occasion in the past. It's not always the radio or tray contacts.
