Ok we can finally put this one to bed.. It was the friction adjustment and a loose chain in the trim mechanism under the console.. The tension was way to loose as was the chain.. Test flew yesterday and worked perfectly

Or you have a slipping belt caused by a broken or cracked alternator bracket. I just had this

I just bought a 2004, G1000, 600hrs, descent shape, ADSB for 190.5K. The newer ones were way above the 200K mark. Tried to buy a steam gauge version but it just never worked out.. Those seemed to be priced in the 135-165K range, depending on engine hours

Just out of curiosity... Why would you lock your fuel caps? Seems like a lot of trouble to go through, considering most airports have cameras everywhere nowadays
