Re: Where is the ELT Antenna

Thanks every one this has been extremely valuable information for me. I am not sure I can get to the ELT easily but I will try the next time I am in the airplane. Rick thanks very much for the picture.

Re: Where is the ELT Antenna

Now it all makes sense. The antenna is internal to the aircraft unlike all the other antenna that are on the outside. To make matters worse even from the inside mine is not visible as I have the Cabin Cool Air conditioning installed in the rear baggage compartment and so the rear of my fuselage seal...

Re: Where is the ELT Antenna

Thanks. I assume when you say "follow the antenna connector" it means that some disassembly of the aircraft is required? We were inspecting the airplane from the outside as a part of a walk around. Also I think you are saying the antenna is a concealed antenna? Not erected on the exterior ...

Where is the ELT Antenna

Today I was asked by a Transport Canada official to point out the location of my ELT Antenna on my 2010 DA40 XLS and ......well...I could not. Through a process of elimination I was able to associate the many antennas with COM, ADS-B, TAS and GPS. For the life of me I could not find an antenna for t...

Re: DA40 Air conditioning

My annual was completed between the Diamond Aircraft Factory in London Ontario and XU Aviation (also at the CYXU) in summer 2018. I was told that a PROPER annual requires removing a part of the A/C which in-tun requires discharging the system for a proper inspection. This came from the factory not X...

Re: TAWS Alerts gone since ADSB upgrade

Yes, you are all correct, the TAWS page which is apparently a part of the MAPS subpage does not even show up any more. I think they did not re-enable it. Also Jepp charts are missing (even though I dont use them at this time). I will either have to take the plane back or have them walk me through it...

Re: TAWS Alerts gone since ADSB upgrade

I know that the factory upgraded the G1000 databases but not sure about the software version, I will check on that. I did some research from the Max Trescott's G1000 Book and it points out that I should be able to do a manual TAWS test on the ground which on completion should generate the famous &qu...

TAWS Alerts gone since ADSB upgrade

Since my ADSB and Avidyne TAS 605 install at the factory I no longer hear the TAWS Alerts that I have become used to such as the "TAWS System Test Ok" alert on start up and the "Five Hundred" call out when landing. Is it possible that these could have been disabled? Does any one ...
